Good News!!

I finally got the store up and running, holy moses, that was one tough cookie. Aunt Linda and I spent ALL day emailing back and forth (she worked on the server I worked on the store) and between the 2 of us... we got it done. I got my word art uploaded and a couple of my girls have things in the store with more to come.

So that's my excitement for the day. I'm thrilled to pieces to have that done : ))

Word Art!

As the store comes together I've been thinking more and more about learning to design my own digital scraps. I thought I'd start with something fairly easy, something that I think people can use and something that appeals to me (so it keeps my attention during the learning phase). So I present Word Art! Gone to the Dogs my first item that will be for sale!!! Now I just have to figure out how to get it in the store LOL.

Crazy!!!

Things are nuts around here. I haven't posted my picture a day in way too long. I have them all, just haven't had a chance to get them posted. Sure fell off the wagon on that one LOL. I haven't posted here in ages. I haven't scrapped much, and haven't made any ATCs. So what HAVE I been doing? Well, the store is almost done so I've been busting my butt trying to learn the admin tools. Don't get me wrong, it's fun : )) Also been working ALOT. In fact today, I'm off to Olympia. Eeek- gotta run LOL.

Hope you all have a great day.

Learning

I'm learning that my weight problem is a struggle from one moment to the next. Many people say that they struggle from day to day, but for me it's more often than that. I like food. I don't eat because I'm hungry or stressed I eat because it tastes so good. And everytime something is placed in my path that looks or smells good I don't take the time to think what I'm doing to myself by eating it.

So problem established. My resolution to the problem? Well, I'm spending more time thinking about my choices and what they're going to do to me in the future. Is eating this candy going to make me healthy and strong or is it going to be one bite closer to immobilizing me? That's the second layer to my problem- I live in the moment. I've learned to not dwell in the past because it isn't going to change, it is what it is and I don't put much energy into what's coming in the future. So here I am in the "right now".

I moved my air climber into my room. It meant a small sacrifice of some art supplies but they're not far away. It's in the way though so I don't forget it's there. The past 2 days I've managed to get on it. 2x the first day 3x yesterday. I'm adding an apple a day to my diet to increase my fiber intake and 1/4 tsp of cinnamon to ward off diabetes. I'm on my way to a healthier me and it truly is about making the "right" choices. I just have to take the time to think them through.

Apartment Living

I haven't had a post in a while about how much I enjoy apartment living so I thought that right now- in order to relive a little steam, now would be a great time to do it.

So it's 9:30 at night when I get home from a looooong day at work. I have to be back super early in the morning, I'm already knowing it's going to take me a while to wind down. I'm looking forward to settling into my chair and checking some emails then heading off to try to sleep. As I come down the stairwell here's 3 kids sitting on the stairs drinking and smoking. No biggie, they're cool, they jump right up (in respect of their elder) to allow me to pass I say thank you its over. Ahhh... you know where I'm going with this don't you?

I get inside. I'm reading email. It's 10:00 and my dogs start going nuts- the kids are getting roudy. I let the dogs have their say thinking they'll get it out of their system and the kids will hear them and be polite and think "Oh shucks, we're being loud, lets quiet down" but do they? OF COURSE NOT!!

Another 10 minutes pass of dogs barking and me shushing them and finially I step outside (Yes, the stairs are right outside my door). "Guys, you're being really loud, my dogs are hearing every move you make, can ya keep it down some?" Now there are 5 of them- funny how they multiply. "Yes miss, we'll move, you go get some sleep now." Awww, aren't they precious? They called me Miss and not Ma'am. Wait... isn't Miss what they call old maids?

Back inside. 10:15 more banging. Almost as if they're saying "Screw you, we'll do whatever we want to" I call security. Whom, by the way, has been useless in the past. I ask if they're REALLY going to send some one out or are they just going to say that they are. "I'm just dispatch, I can't control what happens after I send the call out."

10:30 loud voices, more banging, more barking and me almost bald- "Hello 911? Yes. I just shot some one..." Joking... I don't even own a gun (trust me, that's a good thing). But I did call 911, oddly, that's what we do here in my little town. We don't have a police department and 911 dispatches for the Sheriff's office after hours. "Yes, this is a non-emergency, I need to file a NOISE COMPLIANT!"

10:45 (current time) silence...

New Lens

I just had to stop in here to say that I've broke down and bought my first new lens for my camera (after having it for a year and a half). It's a zoom lens which is exciting because now I'll be able to take pictures without having to try to sneak up on things or without them knowing I'm taking their picture LOL. I decided to buy the new lens because I'm doing the 365 project and taking a picture a day, so this will come in real handy. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have even considered this purchase if I weren't doing the project, but this way I can be sure it will get it's use : ) Should be here in 3-5 days.

Happy 2009!!!

We made it into another year!!

I see great things for 2009. I think it is a strange time for us (as in people as a whole) but I also think it as a time for opportunity.

There is a lot on my plate already, but I'm ready to go into it head first. Right off the bat, starting with today, I began a 365 project. I didn't have a lot of time to think about it, I decided it was something that would be good for me and would be a really good learning experience so I jumped on it. The premise is to do whatever it is you choose to do on a daily basis. My chosen project is a photo a day. I came across this concept on one of my favorite scrapbooking forums DST and thought "Eh, why not?" So I'm on it... Blog and all.

The next project begins on the 4th. I've entered The Amazing Digi Scrap Race with a fellow Tangie Baxter Creative Team member Leigh. The goal is to be the last team standing : ) Over a series of 8 weeks (I think) we're given 2 challenges- One on Sunday and one on Tuesday (I think) and we have until the following Sunday to do a scrapbook page for each challenge and post it to the gallery at the host site. This is something totally new to me, but again, I thought it would be fun and would be a learning/growing experience for me. You can following our meanderings at our blog HERE.

Another project I'm working on has to be finished by the first part of February so it can go in the mail and arrive at it's new home by the end of February. It's a technique swap. There are 120 people participating. Each person has to make an embelishment, or a background technique or something of such. It's glued to a 4x4 piece of paper and on the back of the paper are the instructions for making it. Oh... did I mention that the item being made has to also be either Cheap or Recycled? Yep! So... I'm making pretty little ribbon sliders out of aluminum can tabs (you know, the ones that you pull to open a can of soda?). Once those are all sent in the swap host will sort them and send back to each participant 120 different pages- so everyone will have one page from everyone participating in the swap. Sounds groovy right?

And last, but by no means least, I have the My Life and Scrap store going up. Today I purchased the forum and sent it to the Web Designer so we can at least set up a place to chat with the designers who are going to be selling at the store. I'm hoping on top of hope that my dear sweet wonderfully amazing Aunt Linda is going to be able to help with some of this technical stuff of getting things set up ^sigh^.

And now I'll leave you with a picture of my baby girl asking daddy for a treat. Love to all!!

A Give Away!!

You've GOT to go check out Rhonna Ferrar's blog, she's having an amazing give away (and her blog is too dang pretty to not peek at)!!
