Chuga Chuga Choo Choo!!

I'm participating in my first ever Blog Train and I'm TOTALLY psyched : )) In case you don't know what a blog train is... a whole bunch of people get together and sign up to make a FREE kit or part of a collab kit. Each of those people post their submission on their blog and then post a link to the next person on the train. You might have arrived here from Brandi White's Blog and your NEXT stop should be Ilona Havenaar's blog. If you get lost or stumbled onto my blog by mistake you can find the entire list by going to the Blog Train Blog.

So... on to what you're here for- MY submission to the DST Blog Train!

I hope you enjoy your new collab and make some great Guy Kits from this collection.

Summa This Summa That

I'm almost recovered from the super long day I had on Friday. Work was 14 hours!! Granted only about 7 of that was working, the rest was riding in a van. Not that I'm complaining, I brought my laptop with me and got to scrap a page, not to mention I was getting paid the entire time. I must say, however, that I am happy to have it behind me.

For a bit of bad news... yesterday while doing my sit ups I think I strained or sprained a muscle. It hurt SO bad. It feels okay this morning but I haven't tried using it. Leonard says I need to take a week off the sit ups. I expect I'll have to start over. But that's okay, I'll be stronger. Thanks to all who have been encouraging me, it means a lot.

And now on to that new page I mentioned. This page features Camilla's Kitchen's kit Bedtime Stories. The minute I saw this kit I just knew I had to make a cute Morpheus page. My charming little boy just loves to have his picture taken and I just love making layouts to show off his cuteness!

With that, I'm going to close and go get ready for the day. It's been a lazy morning and I anticipate a lazy day to follow. Maybe a trip to the dog park... it's sure nice weather for it.

Sit Up(s)

For nearly 2 weeks now Leonard and I have been doing sit ups! I came across this website that challenges you to complete 200 sit-ups. Incidentally, the website is called two hundred sit-ups. It's a 6 week training course that prepares you to complete 200 consecutive sit-ups. Now I have to tell you, I'm a big girl, so in the beginning I thought that doing 200 sit ups was going to be a near impossible feat, but it turns out it's really great exercise, I feel good after doing it, I'm getting stronger and improving every day. At the end of the first week I did 41 sit-ups total (not consecutive but in sets of 5). For some one in my shape, that's pretty darned good. I'm getting to the point where I'm not sore every day, which is very encouraging and I actually even look forward to doing them every other day.

Along with the sit-ups there's also a push-up training program which Leonard is participating in and at some point I hope to as well. After the first week of sit-ups I still wasn't quite strong enough to do even a single push-up, but every day I tried and soon enough I'll get there.

A new page

I'm so excited to show off my newest scrapbook page! I had a blast making this. It's my mother walking my dogs. I think you can read the journaling if you click on the image. For this page I used "Doggy Days" by My Creative Pixels Designs, another amazingly talented designer at MLAS!

Designer Duos

I only have a moment, but I wanted to pop in to show off these beautiful new kits in the store. Four of our designers paired up to create 2 beautiful new collabs. They spent a good amount of time talking themes and color swatches and what each person would do. In the end here is what was produced:

And next up is a collab by
LCC by Amy Stoffel and Kari Hentzelt
Kassia's Garden

Both kits are currently on sale, so grab them now.

Another Day

Today was newsletter day. Putting the newsletter together is one of the things I greatly enjoy. As a kid I thought I wanted to be a writer now I don't even write for enjoyment and I miss it. I keep thinking I need to get back to that... there IS a writer inside- somewhere LOL. Anyway, LOTS of great New Releases this past week, be sure to check them out HERE & HERE.

I found this VERY funny video on YouTube, ya gotta love it.

I sat here and laughed at that crazy thing!!!

And last but not least, my latest LO.

I created this using the April Showers Mega Collab available at MLAS. Full credits can be seen HERE.

Hope everyone has a great Thursday. I know I plan to.

Itchy, Itchy, Scratchy, scratchy

Morpheus has the itch. I don't know what else to call it. I'm sure it's some sort of allergy but dang if I know what. He got a buz cut last weekend, thought that would help, but it hasn't even phased him. He chews, he licks, he scratches and Leonard and I are going crazy.

Oh, Morpheus is the dog... for those who are new to my blog LOL. Here he is:

He eats the best dog food out there, we get it from the all natural pet food store and it has no bad for doggies stuff in it. He's eaten about 4 different types of dog food over the course of his 6 years on this planet and he's always had the itchies, so I don't think it's his food.

His last bath was about a week ago and he was bathed with all natural lavender shampoo- no sodium laurel or laureth sulfates. I don't think it's the shampoo because his itchies should be gone by now if it was.

Leonard suggested that maybe he's allergic to down- Morpheus DOES sleep on a down comforter and has for many years. So... tonight the comforter is gone. We'll give it a couple weeks and see how that goes. If it doesn't help we'll be moving on to something else.

SO... I'm here to solicit suggestions. Anyone have any ideas what could be causing the itchies or how we can break the cycle/habit? Looking forward to your comments.

Mega Monday!!

I can't believe it's that time of week already. Where has the time gone? Whew. I'm usually off on Monday, sitting home tending to the store or scrapping, but this Monday I have to work. But that doesn't mean the sales won't go on without me!!

Every Monday at My Life and Scrap we have a special deal. We offer you a little temptation to make a purchase and help support our charity of the month. You see, MLAS believes that part of doing business includes extending a helping hand to the community so each month we offer a new set of Quick Pages that matches our monthly Mega Collab. Every cent we receive for those Quick Pages goes to our charity of the month. May's charity is Homes For Our Troops. So why are Mondays so special and how are we tempting you? Well... if you buy a 30 Pack of Quick Pages you get it's matching Mega Collab FREE!!! How can you go wrong? You get an album already for you to put your pictures in and send to the printers AND a great kit to create those additional pages you may want to add to that album PLUS you'll be helping Homes For Our Troops. Now THAT's a great deal! Here are the 30 packs currently available:

Happy iNSD!!

It's {inter}National Scrapbooking Day and I'm home SICK!!! I can't believe it. I was supposed to have a travel day today and was even looking forward to it. I was stayed home yesterday, with the Swine Flu scare I thought it was best. I had the muscle aches and headache and dry cough it was a little scary. Today I feel MUCH better but thought it might be best to just stay home and try to get some more rest, so that's just what I've done.

MLAS is having a HUGE sale for iNSD. There won't be another sale like this until next year, so if there's something that you've been looking at now is the time to get it while it's 60% off. Oh and by the way... spend $10 in the Shop and get April Showers (the latest greatest Mega Collab) for FREE!!! We've also started our brand new Point System for our Challenges. Participate in our challenges and earn points good for money in the shop. Submit your entries before midnight (Eastern Time) tomorrow night and you'll earn an extra point for each submission.

I picked up a couple Commercial Use items, but for the most part I've kept my spending to a minimum. I used the day to organize what I have already (which is WAY more than I ever knew). It always feels good to do a good Spring Cleaning.

Guess that pretty much sums up today's excitement. I'll close this with a few LO's I've made since my last post. Hope everyone is having a blast today.

This LO was made using the April Showers Mega Collab
