Sounds

The last couple days we've had a good amount of wind here and we have huge Evergreens surrounding our apartment so the wind swishing around in the trees has reminded me of a fast moving river. I laid in bed and just listened. It reminded me of when we went to Leavenworth a few years back. We arrived at night and it was so dark I couldn't see a thing but I could hear that rushing swirling sound. I thought it was the wind but I didn't feel any wind so I asked Leonard what that sound was. He got a laugh out of that and responded with "That's the river." We still laugh about that. And I still remember that time we spent there and how soothing the sound of the river was for me.

What do YOU think?

Leonard got this fun little camera as a Father's Day gift from my mom from the dogs and he just loves it! Lastnight he took a picture of me... one that I actually LIKE (oh my gawd)! He sent it to me today and as I saved it in my files I noticed another picture I had saved there that looked very similar- only it was taken 15 years ago. I asked Leonard if he thought the 2 pictures looked similar and he said NO! I was hoping he would say yes (hence me looking like I'm still in high school). If I've learned anything in life it's to not ask questions you don't want the answer to... so I didn't ask him WHY high school me looks different from 30 something me. I certainly wouldn't want him to say that I look OLDER now LOL. So here they are, you be the judge.

Miss Cranky Pants

I didn't do my walking today and I have a very bad attitude to show for it. On an up note, my super sweetie doctored my blister last night and it's feeling much better today. It doesn't hurt to stand or walk, so I'm looking forward to getting back to it. I may be able to squeeze in a walk tomorrow.

It's finally raining. Yes, I said finally. No it doesn't ALWAYS rain in the Pacific Northwest, contrary to popular belief. There, I said it. And if you don't hear from me ever again, you'll know the natives came after me for spilling their secret LOL.

Nothing else to report. Not home right now, so still can't post layouts, but they're coming soon.

Happy Friday!

Crazy Busy!

It's amazing how time gets away. I can't believe it's been 10 days since my last post. UGH!!

I've been very busy here lately. The site has taken a lot of my time but it's getting pretty close to auto pilot now and things are running pretty smooth there so I'm excited about that. Just sent out a newsletter today (I LOVE doing the newsletter, that's a lot of fun) and sent out payments for all the sales that have been coming in (I LOVE paying people too).

We've got a whole bunch of new designers just getting started in the store. They're all amazingly talented girls. I just wish there were more hours in the day, I'd LOVE to scrap something with each and every kit that's been put out. Seriously, it's like scrapbooking heaven : ) Each and every designer in our store is some one hand picked because I personally LOVE their designs.

On the home front- I've been working my tooshie off trying to get organized and in shape. Those 2 little teensy goals I set for myself at the beginning of the year started slipping by the wayside, I'm sad to report. But I've renewed my vows. I've been in the gym 3 days straight (it was too early this morning to I had to exercise outside) on the treadmill for 30 minutes. I've walked a blister on my pinkie toe that hurts so bad I can hardly stand now LOL. I'm taking the next 2 days off to heal and I'll call Friday and Saturday my regular days off from walking. I'll still be exercising, just in a different way. I've got to say, it's amazing how great I feel just from 4 days at it too. So my first goal is to be able to do 1.5 mile in 30 minutes while staying in fatburn- that means keeping my heartrate low. I expect to get there in another week., I was at 1.26 yesterday. As far as organizing, I got this new shelf that looks so good in my art room. I'm working on sorting and labeling boxes and getting my table cleared off so I can actually work. It's a blast : )

I've done a little scrapping but you'll have to wait for my next post to see what I've been up to. I'm hoping to have some organizational pictures up soon too. Until then... hope you're having a great week.

Fast Acting Karma

I had such a delightful night Saturday. Unfortunately you can't detect the sarcasm dripping in my voice, so I'll just come right out and say that very first sentence is a BIG FAT LIE!

I think we have some new neighbors in our apartment complex. I think this because the ones that were being so obnoxious that I mentioned HERE haven't made a peep since- and as you can see, that was January.

These idiots have NO common courtesy what-so-ever. I'm fortunate (sarcasm) enough to have my bedroom window right on the breezeway where everyone walks by being loud as possible all hours of the night. I must have woke up 10 times Saturday night courtesy of our co-apartment dwellers. The last time I woke up must have been some time around 4 am and it was to the sound of some one on a cell phone, naturally, I could only hear one side of the conversation. Here's what I heard:

"Yes, I'd like to report a stolen car..."

Colors

I've found a new favorite thing to do. I discovered, by accident one morning, that we can hear Morning Colors where we live. We live about 4 miles from the Sub Base so it was quite a surprise when I could hear the National Anthem playing at 8AM. It was really quiet, nothing was stirring and suddenly there it was. I moved to the door and went out on the patio to try to figure out what that sound was then suddenly it occurred to me what I was hearing and a chill crept up my spine and down my arms and once again I thought of how proud I am to be an American.

Today I have little freebie for you for stopping by and reading my blog. I've created an alpha inspired by Morning Colors and my pride in my country. I hope you enjoy it.

New Layouts

Well the dogs have been just as busy as busy can be. It isn't easy posing for all those pictures, you know. While they've been busy deciding on what the next best outfit is or when they'll get to take their next nap I've been hard at work getting some of those lovely pages into my scrapbook. I purchased this super cute little 8x8 scrapbook with all sorts of dog art on the cover. I've printed out about 10 pages so far and got them cut and into the book. And I'll tell ya, I've been showing this book off to everyone who will hold still long enough for me to get it into their hands. Here are my latest layouts:

We have some other news... but it hasn't turned into a big enough deal to share yet, but I've just got to tell you that I'm happy about something : )))

Alright, back to work for me. I have a teensy little something up my sleeve, but you'll just have to wait a little longer for that also. Sorry, I know, I'm horrible : (
